Who are you comparing yourself to?
We must never compare ourselves to anyone; we compare ourselves to who we were, who we are and who we want to be (as Christians it would be Christ like). We are to strive to reach the end of the race which Christ Jesus is calling us. When we compare ourselves to others we often fall into Pride by either judging them thinking we are better or by thinking we are not good enough, this is Pride. Christ warns us not to slip into pride but to be humble. By keeping our focus on Christ and obeying his commandments we will become a new creation.
“This means anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!†(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)
